June fast review & July expectations

I quite enjoyed June. I know it is not yet over but it is effectively over. Not much has changed in my outlook. Oil was spiking up after Israel & Iran threw missiles at each other & while I could not anticipate the exact top, I was able to figure out some points really good on the chart while on the way down. US & Indian Equities behaved pretty much as I expected & I kinda wish I had a levered position but that is of course obvious in hindsight. For July:

  1. I don't see any major reasons to be short. We are in a bull again, both for India & US. India can take out ATHs & US already has. For India I remain bullish on defence, manufacturing & Pharma. I see GLP-1 stocks gaining momentum in US too. Obv my exposure is through mutual funds in all equities due to compliance.

  2. Don't see fixed income markets doing much, same for crypto & Oil. Gold's bull run is over. Same for China & Europe. You can trade them, but I don't see any trending market there. No idea re FX again.

  3. Next time we meet Arsenal we will hammer them.

  4. Some discourse re NYC mayor elections online. I don't care for it but I was forced to read about it. I will just say that people need to learn more history & economics on why socialism does not work.

  5. Fitness is not a hobby. Your fitness & diet habits determines how you age, your mental & cognitive health, how you provide & protect your family, & how long you live Every rep is a down payment for your future self & family You shouldn’t see it as optional. Take it seriously.

  6. They need to make excel fast & reliable for vast data it will be so unstoppable my lord.

  7. The Pakistani (and at large the world) ignorance of the crimes done to innocent people in the name of islam is truly sad. Radical Islam is one of the biggest threats we face & we are not doing enough!

  8. I will definitely get a 3D printer.

  9. Humans never genuinely pursue happiness; they only pursue relief from uncertainty. Happiness emerges momentarily as a byproduct whenever uncertainty briefly disappears.

  10. Instead of cocomelon my kids will go to the football ground & watch matches

  11. Pres Trump was right to be pissed at Israelis & Iran when he said they don't know what they are doing.

  12. Diljit was mid. I can't believe people listen to him.

  13. People are finding out that data like Africa's income cannot be trusted. It applies to many things. Which is why intuition with an open mind is underrated.

  14. Some countries in Africa practice something called Breast Ironing on their teenage daughters to "protect" them. WTF Africa

  15. Apparently Mother Teresa wasn't really a saint.

  16. In Italy, you need permission from a doctor to join a gym or run a marathon. It's only valid for one year. Lol.

  17. Currently reading "The Art of Currency Trading" by

@donnelly_brent. It is a good book. So far it has convinced me that currency trading is probably not for me but worth watching more than I do to find some setup.

  18. For years I read & heard about Israeli & Russian supremacy in military from good credible sources. While they are formidable, these past years have shown us that no one is truly invincible. Lesson for all of us to be more scared for our lives tbh

  19. Denial of colonial crimes is another thing that pisses me off.

  20. False prophets & grifters. Will never be out of business. A nice list by Taleb on Twitter:  Mahoot (elephant handler) + Food taster + Plumber + Chef, squid ink cook + Gardener + Belly dancer + Bank robber + Bishop + Professional bullshit detector + Fencing instructor + Circus acrobat

  21. Monitoring the situation memes are funny

  22. Modern dogshit appliances. A couple of years ago I bought my mom a fancy new fridge. Sensors & shit. It doesn't work anymore & the company says it needs replacement. And we have to PAY for it? Meanwhile the old small simple fridge from 2004 still works. Give me simple stuff

  23. I found out run clubs are, paid. Lol.

  24. "Uploaded my high school kid's course syllabus ahead of his final exam. Had gpt create a study guide with answers and definitions, then put it in the voice and style of Saul Goodman, esquire. Had another app turn it into an audio file in Saul's voice." This is what I want for my kids.

  25. Living for social media likes. I was showing some pictures from vacation to a couple of colleagues. They liked the photos & then went: why haven't you posted these anywhere? They could not comprehend the fact that I did not care about all that. We traveling to see beauty

  26. "AI may be the last technological revolution in human society" -- Ren Zhengfei. My dream of clean water & air through tech and space mining shall remain a dream huh?

  27. guys basically believe that you can solve every problem in your life by getting jacked and making more money. And it is true

  28. With water scarcity projected to become much more acute in the coming decades, a radical new kind of technology is finally on the cusp of providing a source of clean water https://on.wsj.com/43z7pxk. I swear guys I have read a version of this every couple years since I was in school & now I just, shrug these off. When will the true tech arrive?

  29. GPT has gotten really good at math & has been helping me get my math skills back. I ask it to generate problems in increasing difficulty level & then solve it myself one by one. If I get stuck, it helps or provides hints.

  30. Trump Elon split drama was this month but feels ages ago. Same for Ronaldo winning the UNL.

  31. an underreported reason people are having fewer and fewer kids: now we’re expected to watch them 24/7. at least in the summer my mom got 10+ hours a day free from me while I crawled around in ditches. I would never allow this lol.

  32. I know we've moved on from negative rates, but I am really interested in scenarios where they return. Sure, unlikely in say 5 years, but 30? 40? Looking at state of EZ, I think it is quite possible we see them again in our lifetime & it was a fun thought experiment.

  33. The pendulum keeps swinging. There was a time people advocated whole foods over protein & creatine. Not mainstream acceptance. They were considered a gym bro thing & looked at with some sort of stereotype. Now they are advertised for everyone with magical properties. No balance. I suppose it is a good thing. Trying new stuff leads to discovery or inventions.

  34. The Ukrainian drone attacks are scary in the sense these attacks are very likely on India & China already has assets everywhere. Who knows what they can cripple.

That is it for my ramblings for June. Hoping for a good July & June end.
